Sedmikrásky (Daisies)

Sedmikrásky Vera Chytilová 1966
“Two girls decide that since the world is spoiled they will be spoiled as well; accordingly they embark on a series of destructive pranks in which they consume and destroy the world about them. This freewheeling, madcap feminist farce was immediately banned by the government.” —IMDb

One of my favourite movies of all times, said to be a crazy version of Howard Hawks’ “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes”.The art, the satire, the characters, it’s all untouchable and completely mindfucked, that’s why I love this movie. *****

The Act of Seeing with One’s Own Eyes

The Act of Seeing with One’s Own Eyes Stan Brakhage 1971

In a certain way a beautiful and very strong movie showing explicit scenes of the work on a morgue, with dead bodies completely open.

Is interesting to think that one day these bodies  where once alive, and one day we all will be just like they. So that’s why there’s no need  to be disgusted or ashamed when watching to this film. It’s the most certain, pure and human thing. the death.****

Das Weisse Band

Das weisse Band Michael Haneke 2009

Referred as Haneke’s masterpiece (counting in so many great movies that he has already made) a crescent expectation goes around this particular movie, which ones are completely reached.

In this director’s world where there’s no innocence, the most cruel acts could be done both by the suspected and unsuspected.By the end of the movie Haneke let us decide who is the culprit.*****

In the Mood for Love

In the Mood for Love Wong Kar-wai 2000

An uncommon love story placed in Hong Kong in which a betrayed couple get together to fill in their sentiments. Beautifully made, with a incredible art direction, This movie is such a pearl both in technical and sentimental terms. (sometimes it remembered me of Pedro Almodovar’s movies)****
